  • Built the backend system for a gas exchange that handled clearing of all trades that was conducted. Developed the system with robustness and stability in mind, resulting in zero downtime in its 2 years lifetime.
  • Helped develop a open-source web platform for handling mileage reimbursement for public institutions.
  • Worked on a remote patient monitoring platform, where I developed integrations with various heath care devices, i.e. blood pressure, pulse oximeter, weight scale, for Android tablets.

Master's Thesis
Improving Cancer Patients’ Decision-Making Competence - By Data Mining Online Cancer Forums
  • Crawled online cancer forums for millions of posts and tried to extract useful information from the data.
  • For each post, we could specify type of cancer (bladder, lung, skin etc.) and type of information in the post (treatments, side effects, diseases etc.).
  • Used the two machine learning methods, Clustering and Classification, to specify the content of a post.
  • The methods were implemented in a MapReduce framework to distribute, and thereby improve, execution of the methods.
  • Working on publishing a scientific paper based on the work done in my master's thesis.
